Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2010
Congratulations to William Allingham, of Quadcrate, for being first of all shortlisted as one of the Shell LiveWIRE ‘Hot 40′ and now is through to the UK final of 8 businesses, being held at an awards ceremony in London on 13th October.

The steam train, the television, the jet engine and even the web, are just a few of the revolutionary inventions the Brits have gifted to the world over the years. Yet in 2010, is our proud tradition of invention at risk of becoming a thing of the past?
New research conducted by the British Library and invention development specialists, Innovate Product Design, has revealed that over half of the those working in the UK’s creative industries, a staggering 52% of the 1000 people surveyed, have never had an idea for an invention!

City Business Library Event A Success

Last Thursday (15th July 2010) saw Innovate at its first event at the City Business Library in London. Innovate Product Design attended alongside Linda Oakley and Richard Gallafent, co-founders of Ideas21. The evening was well attended by approximately 50 budding inventors and entrepreneurs. The presentation covered how best to develop your product idea and looked at everything from the decisions you need to make, different methods of protecting an idea, product development, prototyping, licensing deals and self manufacturing. We also covered client case studies and their top tips for would-be inventors.
